Chamoli a hill district of Uttranchal, has immense geographical, historical, religious and cultural importance. Chamoli lies in the arms of the heavenly Himalayas and is full of natural beauty. Gopeshwar is the district headquarters of Chamoli and is situated at a height of 1308 m.
